Moxibustion Treatment for ENT Diseases

Diseases of the Five Sense Organs


[Hordeolum (Eye Sore)] Tianzhu (BL 10), Fengchi (GB 20), Shenzhu (BL 12), Ganshu (BL 18), Yangbai (GB 14), Taiyang (EX-HN 5), Quchi (LI 11), Hegu (LI 4), Neiting (ST 44), Zulinqi (GB 41). If this disease occurs frequently, moxibustion can be continuously applied.


[Conjunctivitis] Xinshu (BL 15), Ganshu (BL 18), Tongziliao (GB 1), Cuanzhu (BL 2), Quchi (LI 11), Zusanli (ST 36), Zulinqi (GB 41). Use acupuncture on local points and moxibustion on distant points.


[Blepharitis] Fengmen (BL 12), Shenzhu (BL 12), Pishu (BL 20), Quchi (LI 11), Zusanli (ST 36), Xiangu (ST 43). Release blood at local acupoints and apply moxibustion at distant acupoints.


[Keratitis] Tianzhu (BL 10), Ganshu (BL 18), Shenshu (BL 23), Zusanli (ST 36), Guangming (GB 37).


[Intraocular Hemorrhage] Fengchi (GB 20), Ganshu (BL 18), Geshu (BL 17), Hegu (LI 4), Guangming (GB 37), Taichong (LR 3).


[Retinitis] The same as for intraocular hemorrhage.


[Blurred Vision] Taiyang (EX-HN 5), Fengchi (GB 20), Tianzhu (BL 10), Ganshu (BL 18), Hegu (LI 4), Yanglao (SI 6), Zusanli (ST 36), Guangming (GB 37).


[Nyctalopia] Ganshu (BL 18), Hegu (LI 4), Zusanli (ST 36), Guangming (GB 37).


[Optic Neuritis and Atrophy] Jingming (BL 1), Qiuhou (EX-HN 7), Chengqi (ST 1), Fengchi (GB 20), Ganshu (BL 18), Guangming (GB 37), Zulinqi (GB 41). Use acupuncture on local points and moxibustion on distant points.


[Myopia] Taiyang (EX-HN 5), Yangbai (GB 14), Fengchi (GB 20), Ganshu (BL 18), Zusanli (ST 36), Guangming (GB 37).


[Ptosis of the Upper Eyelid] Apply moxibustion at Xiangu (ST 43). The Ophthalmological Compendium states that moxibustion at Sanyinjiao (SP 6) is effective.


[Rhinitis] Shangxing (DU 23), Yingxiang (LI 20), Fengchi (GB 20), Fengmen (BL 12), Quchi (LI 11), Shousanli (LI 10), Hegu (LI 4).


[Sinusitis of the Frontal Sinus] The same as for rhinitis.


[Otitis Media] Tinggong (SI 19), Yifeng (SJ 17), Tinghui (GB 2), Shenshu (BL 23), Wangu (GB 12), Shaohai (HT 3), Zhongzhu (SJ 3), Taixi (KI 3).


[Tinnitus] The same as for otitis media.


[Otogenic Vertigo (Ménière's Syndrome)] Fengchi (GB 20), Shenshu (BL 23), Yifeng (SJ 17), Tinghui (GB 2), Jianshi (PC 5), Zusanli (ST 36). When the disease attacks, the scalp on the top of the head feels numb. Applying moxibustion only at Baihui (DU 20) has a miraculous effect.


[Pain in the Ear] Tinghui (GB 2), Yifeng (SJ 17), Taixi (KI 3), Sidu (SJ 9), Chimai (SJ 18), Jiaosun (SJ 20).


[Pharyngolaryngitis] Dazhu (BL 11), Fengmen (BL 12), Dazhui (DU 14), Yifeng (SJ 17), Renying (ST 9), Chize (LU 5), Lieque (LU 7), Shaoshang (LU 11) (bloodletting), which has a rapid effect.


[Tonsillitis] Fengmen (BL 12), Dazhu (BL 11), Dazhui (DU 14), Chize (LU 5), Kongzui (LU 6), Lieque (LU 7), Shaoshang (LU 11) (bloodletting), Taixi (KI 3), Zhaohai (KI 6).


[Verruca] Surround the verruca with soft dough and apply moxibustion multiple times, and it will fall off by itself.


[Nevus] Apply non-suppurative moxibustion locally and apply moxibustion multiple times, and it will fall off by itself.
